The young adult Twilight series of four books now being made into
movies were written by Stephenie Meyer. The books sold over 40
million copies around the world and were translated into 37
different languages. The first movie adaptation, Twilight,
premiered in November of 2008. Stephenie Meyer was born in
Hartford, Connecticut and is married to Christian. They have three
sons. The idea for the book Twilight came to Meyer during a dream.
She wrote the book in three months and obtained a publishing deal
with Little, Brown and Company. She later completed the series by
writing New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn. The books are about a
love affair between a human and a vampire. Although it was written
for the young adult audience the series has become wildly popular
with readers of all ages. The first book Twilight one the following
