Twilight is a popular series that has rocked the populations spanning from teenagers to old timers! Introduced in 2005, author Stephenie Meyer combined a classic tale of distressed love with a darker truth lurking behind a vampire love. The book is based on a teenage girl, Bella Swan that has fallen madly in love with Edward Cullen, an aged vampire. Just the mere story line has sent waves and been a favorite of critics, as well as the general public. Readers of all ages have flocked to purchase the book, see the movie or wait patiently for it to return to the library! Rated as a great book, and even praised by parents by the lack of strong language or sexual content, it has even been named as the Best Book of the Year!
The Tale Of Love
The 2005 novel introduces readers to the young love of Bella and Edward. They follow the story line, realizing that while Bella is an average teenager, Edward is far from average. In fact, the plot thickens because it is revealed that Edward is a 100 year old vampire! Of course there is certainly nothing average about a 17 year old sweet girl dating a vampire; however it draws a rich storyline that has been praised time and time again. In the 2006 novel, New Moon the storyline picks up from 2005 and focuses more on the lover’s separation. The focus is more of a dark nature, however the reader is enticed through the classic tales of love – lost loved and heartbroken times. In later novel, Eclipse, released in 2007, Bella is faced with another age ole dilemma of choosing between her friend and boyfriend Edward. A grueling decision at start, which is further fueled by the growing conflict of a human and vampire love relationship. The plot and well written series, draws readers to question their own feelings and returns them to those teenage love relationship dilemmas. Though most did not have quite the unique struggle that Bella and Edward has, most can relate to a forbidden love of that time in their lives.
Fantasies & Heart Throbs
While the series has an intriguing storyline, some speculate that the Twilight Fog has a great deal to do with readers becoming lost in the beauty of the characters themselves. The competition between Jacob and Edward, certainly is helped because of their sexy appearance. The rival between hot Edward vampire and his equally hot rival Jacob definitely induces the fog that everyone refers to. Bella is a beautiful young girl that is caught between the two’s attempts to win her love, in an almost controlling manner. Both are competitive and exert their affection for the sweet young thing!
The art of Twilight will continue as Meyer recently publicized that another book will be released in March 2010. The new book is scheduled and the same Twilight fog is expected to continue. Instead of Bella’s narration of this series it will be told from Edwards’s perspective, which will open an entire new path of reading enjoyment.
